Changing the way the study was done
If the Tuskegee Syphilis Study occurred under different circumstances maybe the outcome of the study would prove to be beneficial for the community and the medical field. Scientific research attempts to provide an answer for a problem; what is the cause and how can the disease be treated effectively without causing ill effects? In my opinion, first and foremost any prospective participant would be informed of what the study entails, how they would be affected and how long the study would be observed. One has to consider the era of the study, participants were probably eager to receive medical treatment due to their limited access to medical care. If they had been informed of the prognosis of the disease then maybe they would be willing participants to help discover treatment for themselves or others.
