JOB DESCRIPTION
JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT EVENT COORDINATOR (Part-Time)
TOURISM DIVISION
PARKS, RECREATION, & TOURISM DEPARTMENT
GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB
Under general supervision, perform various functions related to special events in the tourism division. Work involves planning all aspects of some special events and providing support for others. Reports to the Parks, Recreation and Tourism Director.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Assists with planning, promotion and coordination of existing special events and manages assigned events to increase exposure to the downtown area; works with assigned groups seeking to manage non-City related events in the community; coordinates reserved functions in the City’s parks.
Assists the Department’s special programs, which involves planning, coordinating, setting up and staffing as well as coordinating with other agencies.
Assists in producing and delivering of promotional materials to include press releases
Communicates with various groups and individuals such as the Director, department staff, and other City employees, volunteers, and the general public.
Prepares, reviews, organizes, and distributes various documents and records including schedules, MSDS sheets, timesheets, warehouse forms, purchase orders, facility rental agreements/contracts, applications, reservation forms, and general office correspondence.

Performs related duties as required.
