5-4.7 Summarize the social and political impact of World War II on the American home front and the world, including opportunities for women and African Americans in the work place, the internment of the Japanese Americans, and the changes in national boundaries and governments.

  1. Victory Gardens- gardens grown during WWII by civilians at home in order to ration their food.

  1. Rationing- the controlled distribution of rare resources, goods, or services.

  1. Discrimination- treating someone badly because you think you are better than them

  1. Prejudice- thinking badly of someone for a trivial reason

  1. Internment Camp- prisons where Japanese Americans were kept during WWII because the U.S. government did not know if they could be trusted
