It’s the film industry awards season and many films in our programme and their actors and directors have already won awards or feature in the nominations for BAFTAs and maybe Oscars.

1 AprilMr Turner Stunning and beautiful, this film is the story of the loves and losses of arguably Britain’s greatest artist. Timothy Spall gives a great performance – he learnt to paint in order to play the part. Many scenes were shot at Petworth House where Turner had a studio and which houses many of his works.

Benedict Cumberbatch (The Fifth Estate, Star Trek Into Darkness, and TV’s Sherlock) and Keira Knightley (BAFTA nominee for Atonement, Oscar nominee for Pride and Prejudice) star as Turing and his ally and fellow code-breaker Joan Clarke, alongside a top-notch cast.
We have included some films that are currently only just out on general release at the major cinemas on the basis of the scheduled release dates in DVD format; we have done this in the hope that we are able to show these titles as soon as possible but we may have to change the programme if there is any alteration to those release dates.
