Language and Literature includes expansion of literature and language skills. The student will refine expository, descriptive and persuasive writing. The study of literature could include short stories, poetry, drama, a novel, and nonfiction. Speaking, grammar, and vocabulary development are included.

This course is designed for students who have strong writing and reading skills and desire more challenge in their English curriculum. Advanced Language and Literature includes expansion of literature and language skills. The student will refine expository, descriptive and persuasive writing. The study of literature could include short stories, poetry, drama, a novel, and nonfiction. Speaking, grammar, and vocabulary development are included. Other supplementary activities may include book reviews, literature circles, writing critical essays and creative short stories.
