Prerequisite: Composition or Teacher recommendation for sophomores Journalism 1 is designed to give the student an insight into the differences that exist between the journalism writing process and the processes of other forms of writing. The students are given the opportunity to develop journalism appreciation and journalism skills through the guided practice of interviewing, writing, and copy editing. Also emphasized is the exploration into the ethics of journalism and developing skills needed for the production of a high school publication.
