Main: There’s a lot to do in this lesson – Sovnarkom, Civil War, use of terror Cheka and Red Army, Brest Litovsk The handout – How did Lenin stay in power after October 1917? Covers this well as does Oxley. Probably the most time efficient way to approach this is a teacher led exposition through the main events with students supplementing these skeleton ideas by making their own notes for homework.
