Three Required Courses Lower Division

Ethnic Studies 01: Introduction to Ethnic Studies: This course introduces students to the theories, concepts, and controversies in the study of race and ethnicity in the United States. Specific emphasis will be placed on the ethnic group experiences of African Americans, Latinos, Asian/Pacific Islanders and Native Americans.

Collegiate Seminar

Seminar 124: Multicultural Thought: Selected readings from 20th-century multicultural authors of the United States, especially from California. (This course may not be substituted for any of the required four seminar courses.)
