Italy to be Partner Country at TRAVEL TURKEY Izmir 2014
Hannover/Izmir. Preparations are well in hand for the 2014 season of TRAVEL TURKEY IZMIR. The tourism trade fair and conference will be held from 4 to 7 December 2014 at the Izmir Kültürpark International Exhibition Center in Izmir, Turkey. As its name suggests, TRAVEL TURKEY IZMIR showcases the rich and varied tourist attractions of Turkey to investors, travel agencies, tourism and travel buyers and consumers from Turkey and abroad. It is organized by Hannover Fairs Turkey, a subsidiary of the German trade fair company Deutsche Messe, in partnership with the Izmir-based trade fair company IZFAS and TURSAB (Association of Turkish Travel Agencies).
TRAVEL TURKEY IZMIR is held annually, and each year has a featured Partner Country. This year’s Partner Country is Italy. “We are both delighted and deeply honored that our country has been selected as Partner Country for TRAVEL TURKEY IZMIR 2014,” said Andrea Babbi, Director General of the Italian Government Tourist Board. With its relatively young population, Turkey is a very attractive market for Italy’s travel and tourism offering. The Italian tourism and travel industry also sees Turkey as the gateway to the markets of Eurasia. Last year, Turkey saw an 18 percent increase in outbound tourism. Italy, ever a popular holiday and travel destination, will use its Partner Country showcase at TRAVEL TURKEY IZMIR to boost its share of the Turkish tourism market.
TRAVEL TURKEY IZMIR’s exhibition program encompasses business and congress tourism, health tourism, diverse thermal and spa offerings, key sport and adventure travel destinations, agro-tourism and cultural attractions. The exhibitor list includes travel agencies, tour operators, tourism institutes, government and private-sector cultural bodies, restaurants, holiday resorts and transport operators.
TRAVEL TURKEY IZMIR is an information and communication platform for international tourism-industry professionals. The show will be in its eighth season this year and has the Turkish Ministry for Culture and Tourism as its patron. As the official Partner Country, Italy will be following in the footsteps of Greece, Northern Cyprus, Croatia, the Netherlands, Montenegro and Egypt. Last year’s TRAVEL TURKEY IZMIR featured 867 exhibitors from around the globe and was attended by 26,487 tourism industry professionals.
