The last chapter concentrates on Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen and its adaptation by Ang Lee. A short account on the origin of the novel and its position among the rest of Austen’s works are provided. The content of the novel is given greater attention in the last part of this chapter, where it is confronted with its film interpretation. Considerable emphasis is put on the creation of the film that is described in Emma Thompson’s diaries and also in the supplementary materials to the film on DVD. The very last part finally puts together Austen’s original and Lee’s film version.
