Mary E. Opp, 84, a resident of Miller's
Merry Manor Nursing Home
, Peru, passed away at 9:40 a.m. Sunday, March 6, 2005 at Dukes Memorial Hospital, Peru.
She was born March 28, 1920 in Miami County to Edward V. and Etta M. Grant Myers. She married Joseph V. Opp June 25, 1940, and he preceded her in death May 31, 1991.
Opp was a homemaker.
Survivors include four sons, Joseph L.
Opp and wife Patricia
, Terry Opp and wife Colleen, Ricky Opp and wife Peggy,
and Larry Opp and wife Rhonda
, all of Peru; four daughters, Barb Mosley and husband A.J.,
Kay Jones and husband Bob
, Jeannie Hughes and husband Charles, all of Peru, and Connie
Bloomfield and husband Kelly
, Bunker Hill; two nephews; 18 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death
by her husband and parents
; a daughter, Marlene Turnpaugh;
an infant brother
; her twin sister, Helen Haines; and three grandchildren.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday
at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home
, Peru, with Chaplain Steve Fleck officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
