Marjorie L. Baker, 72, Peru, passed away at 6:40 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005 at her residence following an extended illness.
She was born Oct. 1, 1932 in Miami County to William I. and Mary A. Warner Nickels.
Baker retired from United Technologies after 25 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Rita D. Clark, Peru; three sons, William and David A. Baker, both of Peru, and Tom L. Baker, Fenton, Mich.; six sisters, Donna Tyre and Delores Titus, both of Peru, Bonnie Miller, Betty Saunders, Wanda Sue Nickels and Janette Towe, all of Logansport; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Richard Lee and William Nickels; a sister; and a son, John Baker.
The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, Peru, with Pastor Jeff Patton officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Mexico. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Gideons.
Melissa Linn Taylor, 18, Denver, passed away at 4:10 p.m. on Saturday, February 26, 2005 in Denver.
She was born on January 17, 1987 in Lafayette to Duane A. and Shanon (Wilson) Taylor.
Melissa was a student at North Miami High School. She was a member of Olive Branch Church of God and the Olive Branch Youth Group 6:28.
She is survived by parents, Duane A, and Shanon Taylor, Denver; one daughter, Kristina Allison Taylor, Denver; one sister, Davyna Taylor, Denver; three brothers, Kevin Taylor, Derik Taylor and Corey Taylor, each of Denver; grandparents, Darrell and Linda Wilson, Monticello; and great-grandparents, Zalo and Glenna Wilson, Muncie.
Funeral services will be held at Olive Branch Church of God on Friday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Allen Barton officiating.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. on Thursday at the church.
