Celebrate Chinese New Year @ YVR
Visit Vancouver Airport January 31 from 10am-1pm at the Spirit Of Haida Gwaii: The Jade Canoe Sculpture. Celebrations include live musical entertainment, Chinese ink brush callingraphy demonstrations, fortune-telling, and a traditional lion dance.
Yaohan Centre Chinese New Year Celebration
Yaohan Centre celebrations will be held on Januray 31st starting at 11am and will include a dragon dance, lion dance, and fire crackers.
Aberdeen Centre’s Golden Dragon and Lion Dance
Celebrations at Aberdeen Centre will be held on January 31st at 11am in the outdoor courtyard and from noon on will be inside on all 3 levels. The Lions will visit each store to perform the green ceremony. February 1st and 2nd from 1pm-4pm there will be celebrations with more than 250 performers from the Vancouver Academy of Dance, Vancouver Cantonese Opera, BC Chinese Music Association, and Colours of Dance Academy.
RCCS New Year Celebration
Visit Richmond Centre Fenruary 1st at 1:30pm and watch lion dancers perform the “Choy Ching” ceremony through out the mall and the Money God will be handing out lucky envelopes to lucky people!
RCCS TD Lunar New Year Celebration
Lansdowne Mall will be having celebrations February 2nd 12:30pm-5pm, which will include lion dances, Chinese Opera, Chinese Calligraphy, crafts, and community booths. Lion dancers will perform through out the mall and there will be Lucky draws and free gifts!

Vancouver Chinese New Year Parade & Cultural Fair
Visit Vancouver’s Historic Chinatown on February 2nd from 11pm-1:30pm to watch the amazing 1.5km parade! The parade will start at the Millennium Gate at Pender Street and head east, turning south onto Gore Ave. and west onto Keefer Street. After the parade there will be festivities until 4pm at the Sun Yet-sen Plaza.
LunarFest @ Vancouver Art Gallery North Plaza
The festival will run from February 7th-9th and will feature shows from 12pm-7pm. Activities will include stamp collecting, fortune telling, sampling of lunar tea, and Storytelling. Admission is free!
Cedar and Bamboo
Celebrate the Year of the Horse with a sharing of Aboriginal and Chinese Cultures at the Vancouver Public Library February 8th from 1:30pm-5:30pm. Documentary film screenings of Cedar and Bamboo and Gold Mountain River followed by panel discussions and audience questions. Book launch and multilingual reading of the new children’s book Let’s Take A Walk! by Larry Grant and Sara Ling. There will also be displays of Chinese history in British Columbia and a traditional Chinese Dragon Dance.
Celebrate Chinese New Year at FlyOver Canada
FlyOver Canada presents the Flight of the Dragon, which soars over the landscape of an ancient civilization and China. A back to back experience with FlyOver Canada ride on until March 2nd.
The Year Of The Horse Temple Fair at Dr. Sun Yet-Sen Chinese Gardens
Visit the beautiful Dr. Sun Yet-Sen Chinese Gardens February 2nd 10am-4pm to celebrate the Chinese New Year. The garden presents a special “The Year Of The Horse Temple Fair” a public event based on the Spring Temple Fair where people entertain, trade, greet, celebrate, and pray for a prosperous new year. Admission is by donation with a suggested minimum of $5.

Willowbrook Lunar New Year Events
Visit Willowbrook Mall in Lanlgey, Februry 2nd from 11am-6pm for free family events and activities including Chinese astrology readings, crafts for kids, fortune cookie plinko, Dragon boat display, lion dance, and Tai Chi Demonstrations.
Same day recipts totalling $50 or more can be shown at the customer service centre for a Lucky Red Envelope containing a Willowbrook Gift Card valued from $5 to $20! While quantities last January 31st -February 6th one per person.
Lougheed Town Centre: Lunar Festival
Visit Lougheed Town Centre February 1st from 10:30am-12:30pm for a Korean Drum Parade around the mall and Korean performances at centre court. There will also be a Chinese Lion Dance and Choy Chang.
