CORRESPONDENCE

The RAN A Soldier's View Sir,

In this 75th Anniversary of the RAN all members of the 'Silent Service' may remember with pride their work during World War 2. As one of the thousands of soldiers carried in large and small troopships during that war it would gladden the hearts of all ships' companies of the RAN (also RN. RNN and USN) to know that their very presence, day and night, in all kinds of weather was of immense comfort to we soldiers and the common remark made whilst we watched those ships was to sincerely say 'Thank God we have got a Navy'.
