As the lead figure on social media within Urdu Service, you will develop the services’ approach to social engagement on desktop, mobile, radio and TV, to drive best practice and deliver KPIs in line with our overall business plan.
You will work with senior and social media editors to introduce new ideas, attitudes, tools, products and workflows across the platforms. You will bring a clear vision and an agile approach to our activity within the Urdu Service, based on a deep understanding of what these audiences need. You will have a practical, persuasive, hands-on attitude to training, advising, collaborating and experimenting, in everything from breaking news to special projects development.
Working with the World Service digital team, you will represent the Urdu Service in discussions with BBC Future Media, World Service Languages Social Media Group to ensure technology is developed to support our social media, UGC and wider digital aspirations. You will also work closely with the M&A teams to develop our social analytics and measurement insights, and digital marketing techniques.
You will work with the BBC World Service social media team to ensure BBC Urdu activity complies with News policy and strategy.
