Activities:

Do Now: Take ten minutes to brainstorm a list of examples from the current text that could be applied to the writing prompt: “To gain that which is worth having, it may be necessary to lose everything else.”

  1. In small groups of three-four, students will discuss how their current text could be applied to the writing prompt. Each group is to create a list of possible scenes, characters or other examples that could be used from the text. Each group should prepare to share the main points of their discussion with the rest of the class.

  2. Small groups will briefly share the main points of their group’s discussion with the rest of the class.
