Do Now: Read the checklist for assessing your writing situation. Answer the following questions as a class: “Which of the criteria on the checklist are we ready to address? Which are we not prepared to answer?” Read through and discuss the different types of prewriting activities as a class (listing, clustering, asking questions, free-writing, annotating texts and taking notes, keeping a journal, talking and listening and the internet).
