Carecall provides telecare and telehealth systems, falls prevention services and monitoring to over 4000 people, offering 24 hour support for falls, medical emergencies, fire, flood, bogus callers and gas leaks through a range of non-intrusive telecare sensors. Should a telecare sensor be activated, an alert is sent to the monitoring centre where trained advisors take the most appropriate action, whether it be contacting a family member, neighbour, doctor, responder, or the emergency services.
An opportunity has arisen for a Mobile Co-ordinator to work a mixture of days and out of hours on call within Provide, working as part of a 24 hour Carecall service. This post involves monitoring and call answering within a busy Control Centre that responds to vulnerable and elderly people living within the Mid Essex location, installation of telecare/telehealth alarm systems within peoples’ homes and responding to a range of technical and support issues.
The on-call element of the role involves being on-call from home and carrying out response visits when required at evenings, overnight and weekends as part of a rota, to vulnerable and elderly people living within Mid Essex or the Uttlesford district. The post holder will need to be able to provide support to the customer in a range of situations including falls and alarm failure. The post will include responding to a range of technical and support issues to people within their own homes or Sheltered Housing. Full training will be provided.
Working largely on your own initiative, you will need to have good organisational skills and be a good team worker who communicates well with colleagues. You must have the ability to empathise with the needs of our service users and solve problems with the minimum of supervision. You must be a car driver and be willing to travel the whole of the Uttlesford region. Due to the need to respond to customers within an average of 45 minutes you must live either in, or very close to, Braintree or Uttlesford district. A mature, common sense approach is essential, as is the ability to problem solve promptly with the minimum of supervision.
The successful applicant will receive all Provide mandatory and job specific training, regular supervision and opportunities to gain knowledge and experience of working with older people in a health and social care role. This is an exciting time within the Carecall service with opportunities for integrated working with health and social care professionals and to be part of a developing service.
The successful applicant will be subject to a criminal record check.
