Trade barriers: Prevent foreign products from entering a country. Trade barriers limit supply and increase prices. They may be used to protect jobs or give new industries a chance to develop. Some trade barriers are used to protect industries that would be important for national security.
• Explain how the lack of power to regulate the economy contributed to the end of the Articles of Confederation and the creation of the U.S. Constitution.
