Course Requirements:
1) Term project: 18-20 pages in length (plus notes), based on primary as well as secondary sources.
Primary sources can include fiction, films, and other media; memoirs or oral histories; and documentary or journalist materials. Topics can go beyond 20th-century Europe to include other times and places, such as the U.S. Civil War; the Middle Ages; or non-Western cultures. First draft due April 16; final papers due Thursday, Apr. 30, by 11:30 a.m. (Please turn in BOTH drafts of your papers.)
