Marking Rubric for Online Discussion

Grading Rubric for Discussion Forum
This rubric is for marking contributions to and participation in 'The Wellness Forum'. It has the following five criteria: 1) Responsiveness, 2) Communication, 3) Interaction, 4) Critical Thinking and Analysis, and 5) Mechanics, which are each worth as indicated in the table for a potential total of 15 Marks to match the 15% that this assessment is worth towards the Final Course Mark. Note that the rubric takes into account both the quality of each of the postings and number of quality postings, mainly under the ‘Interaction with Peers’ criteria. For example, only a couple of ‘yes I agree’ or ‘no I don’t agree’ without a considered explanation will not count for much.

Criteria	High Distinction	Distinction	Credit	Pass	Fail
Responsiveness to the Discussion Topic.	1.7-2.0 Marks Addresses all aspects of the Discussion Topic in an excellent way and is way above average.	1.5-1.65 Marks Addresses all aspects of the Discussion Topic very well and is above average.	1.3-1.49 Marks Addresses all aspects of the Discussion Topic well and is about average.	1.0-1.29 Marks Addresses all aspects of the Discussion Topic fairly well but is below average.	0.0-0.99 Marks Does not address or does not address very well all aspects of the Discussion Topic and is well below average.
