+Prayer for Salvation What is your definition of eternal life?
Wikipedia describes it to be "continued life after death." God states that it is to believe that He gave His only son, Jesus Christ. In John 3:16 it says, "For God so loved the world, that he gave His only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."
How is eternal life beneficial to you?
You'll have everlasting life. Therefore you can live life without worrying about death. You have overcome death when you have receive eternal life. In Revelations 20:6 it says, "Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years." You have become a new creation. 2 Corinthians 5:17 says, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold the new has come." How many of you who are reading this want to live the same way you did in the past? Whether that life was pleasing or miserable it was temporary. When you become new in Christ, you begin to live a life that is eternal. You are saved! Romans 10:13 says, "For everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Why is salvation important? Because with it, you are healed (Psalm 91:9-10), you are delivered (2 Samuel 22:2), you are a joint-heir with Christ (John 1:10-13),you have received the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13,14), you are holy without blame (Ephesians 1:4), you are no longer without hope and without God in the world(Ephesians 2:12), you have been accepted by God(Ephesians 1:6). A great book to read would be "Now Are We In Christ Jesus", by Kenneth Copeland, because it talks all about the what we have when we accept Jesus into our lives.
How do you maintain eternal life?
It's hard, but not impossible. In Matthew 7:13-14 it says, "Enter by the narrow gate. For the gate is wide and the way is easy that leads to destruction, and those who enter by it are many. For the the gate is narrow and the way is hard that leads to life, and those who find it are few." It's comforting to know that once you are saved you are always saved. In John 5:24 it says, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on Him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." In John 10:28 it says, "And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand." Does this mean we can go on sinning as much as we want? God is not deceived by your good works. He knows your heart. Openbible.com shows us scriptures that explain to us "How we should live our live." If your heart and your actions do not line up with the word of God, then one may question if you are truly a child of God. To these types of people God responds with Matthew 7:21-23. Does this mean were going to be perfect? Of course not; this is why "repentance" is so essential. 1 John 1:9 says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." God will forgive you, so you can confess your sin and get it right with Him.
Prayer For Salvation
Heavenly Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Your Word says, "...whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Acts 2:21). I am calling on You. I pray and ask Jesus to come into my heart and be Lord over my life according to Romans 10:9-10. "If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved." I do that now. I confess that Jesus is Lord, and I believe in my heart that God raised Him from the dead. I am reborn! I am a Christian--a child of Almighty God! I am saved!
