Up above there is an image of the great sphinx of Egypt. The great sphinx is made of stone. Half of the great sphinx is lion and the other half is human. The great sphinx has attracted a lot of people from around the world to travel to Egypt to visit this fantastic monument. The great sphinx used to look a lot better when it was first made in 2500 BC for the pharaoh Khafra for instance it had colour and it had a nose.
Question 2) How can we use this image to better understand ancient Egypt?
The great sphinx is very big and for the ancient Egyptians to have made something so big for their pharaoh and with detail, the ancient Egyptians must have been very good sculpture builders. The great sphinx was used for worshipping the solar system and especially the sun and its cycles.

The image above is an image of the great pyramids of Giza. There are six pyramids and all of them are in a certain pattern. The ancient Egyptians began to start constructing the pyramids in the year 2584 BC. King Sneferu had to make three attempts to properly construct these pyramids.
