New Executive Director Announcement

[Seattle, WA] September 19, 2013

The Board of Directors of the Northwest African American Museum is pleased to announce as of October 1, 2013, the appointment of Rosanna Sharpe as new Executive Director.

“The Museum has been blessed with solid leadership from Carver Gayton to Barbara Earl Thomas and now Rosanna Sharpe. Sharpe brings a wealth of experience and expertise for a strong and positive future” Says Chair of NAAM’s Board of Directors Norman B. Rice.

With more than two decades of experience in the museum field, Rosanna’s extensive experience coupled with her education and leadership skills made her a strong candidate for the position. Rosanna Sharpe has an MFA in Museum Studies from the Syracuse University where she received the African American Studies Fellowship. Rosanna has served as the Director of Curatorial Affairs for the Museum of Glass and the Manager of Collections and Traveling Exhibitions for the Experience Museum Project.
