Comment: This was an unfiltered ‘global’ search to establish quantity and variety of research. In
particular, noting the amount of primary, empirical data available on topic before drilling down.

Comment: Experimented with alternative term for ‘psychiatric’ to encompass more research however, results too large to assess for relevancy. Need to be more specific.

Comment: Utilised CINAHL headings for variation in terms to improve quality of search as this captures how authors write about the topic. Introduced “therapeutic environment” as think this is relevant to the research question.

Comment: Applied inclusion and exclusion limiters to funnel most current / relevant / quality research. Also, aiming to standardise the search by focusing in on adult (18yr –
65yr) as a constant variable. Found 3 papers for consideration but these were either difficult to understand the method used or concentrated more on the patient perspective rather than the nursing staff perspective which is the focus of my research question.
