Reading Circles "Adolescent Literature Selections" to be chosen by students--TBA
Virtually all the literature and film we study is traditional high school curriculum, but it does concern adult themes and may be considered controversial by some.
Alternative curriculums for individuals or entire classes may be developed if requested. I appreciate literary recommendations by students, parents, and community.
Plot and theme are the basic focus in my classroom. My intent is that students be familiar with these works as part of their cultural heritage. This philosophy was strongly influenced by Hirsch's book, Cultural Literacy.
