The goal for this assignment is for you to analyze the propaganda of one of the two major superpowers in the Cold War. You will choose one of these countries and then argue whether their propaganda during the Cold War was effective or ineffective. The important question to answer first is what was the ideology of the country you have chosen? Then decide whether or not the government did an effective job of conveying this message to their people. Also be sure to analyze if the country you have chosen has done an effective smear and fear campaign of the opposing country. Please be sure to use at least three different primary or secondary sources that are cited throughout your paper to strengthen your argument (at least 5 cites). You will have about two weeks to complete this assignment so I expect greatness. It will be due Tuesday, October 9 at the beginning of the class period. It must be a minimum of 1,200 words in Times New Roman.
