THE PROMISE OF GOD: THE CHRISTIAN SHOULD HAVE NO FEAR OF THE SECOND DEATH. Revelation 2:11
AFear not those who are able to kill the flesh, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear Him who is able to destroy both the soul and the body in Hell” (Matthew 10:28).
Death for the true believer is only a door they pass through which ushers them into the very presence of the Lord. Christ conquered death and the God=s word gives us the assurance that. A. . . Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?" (1 Cor. 15:54-55) Jesus when speaking Martha said A. . . I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die." (John 11:25-26)
The Christian's promise from the Lord is "To be absence from the body is to be present with the Lord." (2 Cor. 5:8-9) 1 Thess. 4:13-18 explains the coming Rapture of all believers both dead and alive and ends telling the Christians to comfort yourselves with this truth.
2 Cor. l3:5 explains we are to, "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?"
