BAA Scotland appointment (BAA logo) Nation1 has been appointed by BAA Scotland The creative agency will focus on raising awareness of BAA Scotland’s commitment to route development, highlighting the company’s investment in local airports, their commitment to the local community and their vision for the future.
Strathclyde University appointment (Strathclyde logo) Nation1 has been appointed to produce a national below the line campaign to increase applications for research grants at the University. The campaign will employ a mix of national press and online advertising underpinned by a tracking and detailed evaluation mechanic.
New Staff at Nation1 (Ewan and Barbara photo) Nation1 welcome Ewan Leckie as a Designer and Barbara McGowan as Account Executive to the Glasgow agency team. Barbara joins from her previous role as Marketing Manager at a leading Scottish connectionist and Ewan joins from a graphic design role at a leading Scottish publisher.
Bowmore transatlantic brief Nation1 has been tasked with researching consumer attitudes to the new Bowmore Malt Whisky packaging on both sides of the Atlantic. The team in New York and Glasgow will work hand in hand to complete the task.

Ewan studied graphic design at James Watt College in Greenock, his first design job was with a copy print outfit in Edinburgh where he cut his teeth in the fast paced world of typesetting. He was quickly snapped up by a business publishing house where his main duties were to work closely with various government institutions to improve their branding and communications as well as production of their monthly and fortnightly magazines. He joined Nation1 in March 2006.

Barbara brings a varied background to the team, perfectly suited to the job of client servicing. From her first job as promo staff for a sales promotion agency (whilst studying at Caledonian University) through to her most recent role as Retail Manager at KShocolat, Barbara has shown a passion for marketing. She even managed to squeeze in a stint of advertising sales at the Carnyx group, publishers of Scottish ad industry bi monthly The Drum.

BAA Scotland asked the creative advertising team at Nation1 Glasgow to design a series of standard adverts that could be used for a multiple of publications focusing on the company’s investment in local airports, their commitment to the local community and their vision for the future. Our award winning team of designers and copywriters produced a clean, simple approach that will not date quickly.
Strathclyde University (three RAE adverts)
Nation1 was briefed produce a national below the line campaign to increase applications for research grants at the University, media buying would be handled by the creative agency targeting titles like The Guardian and The Times Higher, with a complimentary online advertising campaign underpinned by a tracking and detailed evaluation mechanic.
Nation1 created an advertising campaign for the Scottish themed board game to increase sales over the festive period. We employed a mix of outdoor, POS, press, radio, PR and online (consisting of a new website, online shop and viral marketing campaign) The project was a great success with client reporting impressive sales for the period.
Xscape (2 x billboards, viral advert, photo from launch, launch leaflet)
Xscape at Braehead Glasgow retained Nation1 to their launch advertising project; Xscape is Scotland’s first real snow indoor ski slope, mixed leisure and retail scheme. The £60m 460,000 sq. ft. development will house a 12 screen Odeon cinema, real snow ski slope, climbing wall, aerial assault course, several branded restaurants, a 24 lane bowling alley, bars, a selection of high quality extreme sports retailers and other attractions.Nation1 created an integrated campaign including radio, press, outdoor, stunts, ambient, viral and TV.
www.priceyourmeal.com is the first website of it’s kind anywhere in the world. The website follows a similar format to popular bidding engine eBay. Registered users are invited to bid for meals from as little as 1p per meal. The site is to be launched initially in Glasgow, with ambitious plans to expand across Scotland, the UK and beyond. Nation1 created a strong visual to communicate the unique proposition of the site and employed guerrilla tactics (such as inflatable billboards), online advertising and PR to raise awareness.
