VATICAN AND PAPAL NEWS AND EVENTS  This web site gives listeners an opportunity to listen to music and news from the Vatican. It is broadcast 24/7 in dozens of languages. It also links to the Vatican's YouTube channel. It contains links to a number of resources that can help Catholics to grow in their faith, hope, and love. This web site provides information on all aspects of the Vatican and Pope Francis, including the latest updates on Vatican news and events in eight different languages, including English and Spanish. This web site allows you to take a virtual tour of the Sistine Chapel which is part of the Vatican Museums. After accessing the web site, click on the link that says The Holy See – English. Then click on the link that says Basilicas and Papal Chapels. Then click on the link that says Sistine Chapel. You then can take a virtual tour of the Sistine Chapel. View every part of Michelangelo’s masterpiece in great detail. Just click and drag your pointer arrow to the section of the Sistine Chapel that you want to view in greater detail. This virtual tour was prepared by Villanova University at the request of the Vatican. This newly created website by the Vatican offers a multi-media collection of news related to the Catholic Church. It contains messages delivered by the Pope during his weekly Sunday Angelus talk as well as other news about the daily activities of the Pope, news from the Roman Curia, and world news. This new Vatican Web site contains information about the Year of Faith. With the Apostolic Letter of October 11, 2011, Porta fidei, Pope Benedict XVI declared a Year of Faith. This year will begin on October 11, 2012 on the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Ecumenical Vatican Council and will conclude on November 24, 2013, the Solemnity of Christ the King. The year is meant to provide the faithful an opportunity understand more profoundly that the foundation of Christian faith is “the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction.” This web site is produced by the Diocese of Fort Wayne/South Bend, Indiana and seeks to provide daily reflections on our Catholic faith. It is a response to the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI’s Year of Faith and his call to utilize new media and technology in the New Evangelization. My Year of Faith seeks to engage the faithful each day by providing an online community of daily reflections, catechesis, challenges for spiritual growth and opportunities for participating in the New Evangelization. The site also makes available a smart phone app.

Catechesis of the Popes is dedicated to looking at the Wednesday General Audiences of Pope John Paul II, Pope Benedict XVI and Pope Francis. This site is divided into two principal categories: Major Catechetical Themes and Other Themes.  The “Other Themes” are more informal arrangements of various audiences around a particular theme of interest. The Apostleship of Prayer has been promoting the monthly prayer intentions of the Pope since the Nineteenth Century. Each month Pope Francis encourages people around the world to join with him in praying for two special intentions. The Apostleship of Prayer provides daily reflections on the Pope’s intentions in several languages and includes a version for children with coloring pages and activity suggestions.
