After accessing the web site, click on the link that says The Holy See – English. Then click on the link that says Basilicas and Papal Chapels. Then click on the link that says Sistine Chapel. You then can take a virtual tour of the Sistine Chapel. View every part of Michelangelo’s masterpiece in great detail. Just click and drag your pointer arrow to the section of the Sistine Chapel that you want to view in greater detail. This virtual tour was prepared by Villanova University at the request of the Vatican.

With the Apostolic Letter of October 11, 2011, Porta fidei, Pope Benedict XVI declared a Year of Faith. This year will begin on October 11, 2012 on the 50th anniversary of the opening of the Second Ecumenical Vatican Council and will conclude on November 24, 2013, the Solemnity of Christ the King. The year is meant to provide the faithful an opportunity understand more profoundly that the foundation of Christian faith is “the encounter with an event, a person, which gives life a new horizon and a decisive direction.”
