Apocalypse
Those who haven’t much understanding of Scripture define it as; any universal or widespread destruction or disaster.
But those who are disciples of Jesus realize it is: a prophetic revelation, especially concerning a cataclysm in which the forces of good permanently triumph over the forces of evil.
Which camp are you in? It’s obvious that humanity is anticipating something and doesn’t know what it will be. Consider the movies and television series that are becoming more popular. Sci-Fi from natural disasters, to alien take over, to universe merging, all reveals a sense today that something is on the horizon that isn’t good. Even the attention given to end of the world predictions expose a subconscious knowledge that there is a cataclysmic event coming.
You see when you remove, overlook or don’t know the triumph of good over the forces of evil part; it does get a might scary and depressing. But if you believe God and His intentions, well then it gives you the ability to prepare for it properly.
We exert considerable effort to track major storms of all kinds so as to prepare for their impact. We analyze data and research to avoid all kinds of danger, as many health issues as possible and as well as a myriad of “quality of life” conditions. We do all we can to extend life in this realm and yet neglect our spirit. We want to live forever, because we will! Just not in this body! That desire is given by God to motivate us to believe and consider our eternal existence.
Each body that perishes in the physical releases a soul into the final realm, the spiritual realm. For those who have believed in Jesus and were willing for Him to be their Lord, they enter His kingdom, heaven. Those who reject His Lordship enter the only place in the entire universe where He is not, the lake of fire, hell.
This lake of fire isn’t a party-hardy place. Each soul is isolated without contact or communication except to be aware of what they have forfeited. That, along with having the addictions, desires and habits they refused to repent of in this life, burn inside of them throughout eternity with no means of gratification. That’s HELL!
But the Scriptures also teach that there will be a series of events that will bring an end to the world as we know it. That is the Biblical Apocalypse. All the other depictions are the confused imaginations of those unaware or unwilling to accept the truth.
There will come a 7 year period of planet altering events that will destroy all evil on the Earth. Financial collapse, environmental catastrophes, political destruction beyond comprehension are designed to reveal the power and authority of God. All those willing to repent and accept His Lordship might make it alive through this time, but all would be best advised to be prepared and escape the wrath of God being poured out on this rebellious and wicked world.
How, you say? Well, by accepting the Lordship of Jesus now. But this involves being willing to repent, to change, or rather allow Him to help you change. You may wonder, “Allow Him”? Yes, you never lose your free will, you surrender it to Him. Those who have done that before the beginning of the wrathful events are rescued out of all that calamity and destruction.

Let me give you Scripture references so you can see it in the Bible for yourself. The Old Testament speaks of these events also, but I’ll stay in the New Testament. Jesus warns of this time in Matthew 24:1-31. A few excerpts are:
Be careful that no one fools you. Many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will fool many people. You will hear about wars and stories of wars that are coming, but don’t be afraid. These things must happen before the end comes. Nations will fight against other nations; kingdoms will fight against other kingdoms. There will be times when there is no food for people to eat, and there will be earthquakes in different places. These things are like the first pains when something new is about to be born.
