Alternative Assessment of Juvenile Delinquency

Present By: Amit Rosenfeld

The Juvenile Delinquency case

In the fall of 1999, when he was 17, Manny and two other gang members attacked a family in his neighborhood. One of the victims was six months pregnant. The prosecution says she was hit repeatedly in the stomach with a baseball bat. Four men were assaulted, two of them stabbed. Manny was arrested and brought to court on four counts of attempted murder.

The Verdict

In the summer of 2000, Manny pled guilty to seven counts of assault with a deadly weapon. On January 22, 2001, He was sentenced to nine years at state prison.

I think the verdict suites the crime because Manny did 2 juvenile delinquency cases and one of them was a rape case when he was 14 years old so he needed to get his full punishment.

Alternative Punishment

I would send Manny to An isolated boarding school for 3 years ,where the teachers will educate him and teach him how to behave better.

When he will finish his punishment he will become a different person.
