C.   Quadruple Alliance (November 20, 1815)

1.    The Quadruple Alliance was a treaty of cooperation among Austria, Russia, Prussia, and Great Britain

2.    The Alliance reaffirmed the Treaty of Chaumont sanctioning diplomacy by congress (conference) and joint action by the members:  "collective security"

3.    The British joined to prevent the rise of a new, powerful France and to maintain the balance of power on the continent of Europe

4.     Austria, Russia, and Prussia were dedicated to the defeat of liberalism and revolutionary nationalism
