WWII Movie Project

Assignment Overview:

You will choose a WWII movie of your choice to watch and then research to see what is factual and what is not factual from the movie. You will then write a summary of the movie and what you found out from your research about how accurate the movie is in portraying events of WWII.

Directions:

  1. Choose a WWII movie (see below for some ideas) that includes American involvement. A couple examples that would not work are Enemy at the Gates, and Valkyrie.

  2. Watch the movie

  3. Complete a write-up on the movie as follows:

    1. Summary of the movie that includes what it is about, and a brief overview of the plot lines, focusing on the WWII aspects. Be sure to include information about what specific WWII issues the movie is showing and that you will research for accuracy. Look for 4 things you could research for accuracy.

      1. EX: Pearl Harbor—Research Eagle Squadron, Naval Intelligence, Attack, Doolittle Raids.

    2. Information on each topic you chose to research and what is accurate or inaccurate about the movie with regards to that topic. For each area you research discuss how the movie does an accurate or inaccurate job of portraying what really happened during WWII. Use citations in MLA format for sources.

    3. Works Cited page in MLA format
