Due in Friday 6th November 2015
This week’s homework challenge is linked to our topic of ‘Brilliant Brunel’ and the Victorians.
This term we have been learning about the work of Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the engineering projects he was linked to in Victorian times.
For homework this week we are challenging the children to make a project on the work they have covered and find out some extra facts to share with the class.
MUST: Visit a museum or find out about what life was like a long time ago. Find an everyday item that looks different now from a long time ago and paint some pictures ( eg range / microwave, horse and cart / car)
SHOULD: make a project about Isambard Kingdom Brunel and the work he did in Victorian times.
COULD: find out about the work of Engineers of the past and present and compare the tool and techniques. Find out how they overcame difficulties with their projects and what difficulties engineers face now.
Take a photo of yourself by one of Brunel’s constructions such as Stroud station, Clifton suspension bridge, Paddington station etc or even visit a few and make a book about your holiday.
Remember you only need to choose one home work to do and the MUST is the minimum we expect from all children, it is up to you to choose the level of challenge you would like to engage in. If you have a different creative idea linked to the theme it is fine for you to challenge yourself and bring in your work.
