He had no children of his own. He married Abigail Weed [dau of Captain Ebenezer and Mary (Bell) Weed] [whose mother married Josiah Ferris (3.1.1.2)??] born November 5, 1728 Stamford and died there October 19, 1818. The church records and the tombstone give conflicting information: the church records have Ebenezer dying in 1824 at age 99 and Abigail in 1818 at age 89. This union had no offspring, but Ebenezer was guardian for others; the 1790 census shows his household has having two males under 16, three females and one other free person. He left the majority of his estate to the children he raised.

(3.1.1.8) ABRAHAM FERRIS (8RLL-VN) (c1737-) came to the Indiana/Ohio area with his family, but he was not happy and sold out to his brother and returned to New York. Somewhere along the line, Abraham contracted the habit of drinking to excess and after he returned to Ohio, again, his habit increased. He seemed to shun his connections and went into the Catskill Mountains into a lumbering district and there commenced keeping bachelors hall. His brother, Ebenezer, got him back to live with him but he stayed but a little while and left for his old place. He was eventually found dead in one of the bachelor shanties, c1799/1800.

Springfield MA and died December 13, 1850 age 78y 7m 20d - she is listed as a daughter of Jehiel (error) in the record of The Hilton Cemetery; it is said that Jehiel courted Elizabeth all of 15 minutes - he was 75 and she was 42! [Jim -that explains the short courtship!] When Jehiel married Abigail, they moved to West Burlington PA and Margaret moved back with her father. Part of the Beach/Ferris farm was given to the town to enlarge the local cemetery, The Hilton. Their farmhouse stood for many years next to The Hilton.
