Updating Your Tables

Tax Update 04-B contains files for updating the tables in your PeopleSoft Payroll system. The files will be named T04B (rel)(y).DMS and T04B (rel)(y).DAT where “rel” is a database release designator and “y” is either

“G” for garnishment table updates,
“M” for message table updates,
“S” for the database stamp, or
“U” for U.S. tax table updates.
Both U.S. and Canadian customers should apply scripts with the “G”, “M”, and “S” suffixes to update the garnishment table, message table, and tax update ID stamp, respectively.

Also delivered with this tax update is the following script for updating the 1042 Nonresident Alien Tax Treaty Table:

UPD155862.DMS

UPD155862.DAT

The DataMover script (.DMS) files identify the input data file (.DAT) as well as the output log message file. The directory where DataMover looks for the input data file and the log file is specified in your Configuration Manager.
Any new-insert DataMover entries in these tax update scripts which have key values matching rows already in your database will not be applied. This condition could occur if you have already added any of the new table entries included in this tax update script on your own, such as a tax change, which was posted to Updates & Fixes on PeopleSoft Customer Connection.

Also delivered in this tax update are the following scripts which update the Tax Form Definition Table and Tax Form Print Parameters Table for the new version of Puerto Rico Form W-2cPR, used for making corrections to Forms W-2PR issued for tax year 2003.

Updating the Tax Form Definition Table for Form W-2cPR for Corrections to
Form W-2PR for Tax Year 2003

  1. Enter the Tax Form Identification W-2cPR and the Effective Date of 01/01/2001 on the Tax Form Definition search page and select Search. Add a new row in the table that duplicates all of the 2001 entries by selecting the Add (+) button in the “Effective Date” Group Box. Change the effective-date for this newly inserted row to 01/01/2002. Save this new entry.

  2. Run the DataMover script 881TXFRM03_W2CPR_04B.DMS (delivered in this tax update).
It is extremely important that this script be run ONLY ONCE into your database.
This script will add the 2003 rows on the Tax Form Definition Table entry effective-dated 01/01/2003 for Puerto Rico Form W-2CPR to match the box numbers on new version of Form W-2cPR issued for tax year 2003 by Puerto Rico Departamento de Hacienda. These changes include elimination of the subtotals box (formerly W-2cPR box 17), the re-assigning and re-numbering of all subsequent boxes on Form W-2cPR (boxes 18 through 23), and the elimination of box 24 from Form W-2cPR.

  3. Update the new 2003 Tax Form Definition Table entry for Puerto Rico Form W-2cPR with your specific earnings and deductions information for year-end reporting. Save your changes.

  4. Run TAX710.SQR to print a listing of 2003 Tax Form Definition Table entries and review it for accuracy.
