TITLE: 5- Minute Paper/ Isolation vs. Intervention




Exchange with another student your assignment to be read out loud in class, as Ms. Sanderson will provide suggestions on how to improve the assignment. Keep your assignments in notebooks for Dec. notebook check.
Student reading: Chinese in America: Fong See.
-1880 Chinese were not allowed to marry Caucasian women. 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act was not allowed to enter the US. Chinese were not accepted in American Society, also not allowed to participate in the American process and culture, except when US needed them as allies in the WWII.




Isolationism- Define on your own.
A foreign policy dedicated to withdrawing from international affairs (p. 160).

Most of the European wars were cousins fighting cousins of different countries with marriage alliances all stemming form Queen Victoria family lineage, several countries were just sons or nephews of the Queen.


Neutrality- a policy of NOT taking sides in a conflict.
Treaty of Versailles stated Germany could not built up arms to attack other countries.




Intervention - to come between: to interfere with force or a threat of a force in the affairs of another state.
