GLASGOW BASED INTEGRATED CREATIVE AGENCY wins Royal Scottish National Orchestra Account, a Royal Mail Winning Post Award and adds new media division and three new staff

Nation1, the integrated creative agency based in Glasgow has recently added the Royal Scottish National Orchestra to its expanding client list. The campaigns objectives are to increase the appeal of classical music to a younger audience across Scotland and the UK. Nation1 will create an interactive viral campaign (www.rsno.co.uk), a number of innovative outdoor special builds and a series of high profile outdoor events towards the tail end of 2003 and throughout 2004.


Simon Crookall, CEO, RSNO said, “We are very excited to be working with Nation 1 on ways to bring classical music into the 21st Century”
Andrew Grant, Creative Director, Nation1 explained, “We won this account on the back of the work we have done for Subway and the award winning repositioning campaign we did for Brylcreem. We can’t wait to get stuck into this project.”
Nation1 also recently added a Royal Mail Winning Post Award (Agency Portfolio Category) to the mantelpiece for their DM campaign designed to get them on the Tennents pitch list. Commenting on the DM campaign the judges said, “A great concept, great use of medium and the ultimate in targeting” Nation1 were one of only two agencies that were invited to meet Sandra Mitchell, Marketing Director Tennents Lager.
2003 also sees the introduction of Nation1’s new pricing strategy, which provides clients with total price transparency and unrivalled accountability. Nation1 now operate a performance related feeing structure. This involves the client setting campaign objectives, and only when these are achieved does the agency receive their commission, all production elements are charged with no mark up or agency commission. The agency only charges a fee for the idea – the most valuable element of the campaign.
Speaking of the agencies new approach to pricing Peter Thomson, Director Manning Gottleib OMD said, “Nation1 provide an honest approach to advertising. Total accountability with complete transparency, this agency will have a very, very bright future.”
April sees Nation1 team up with breakaway web agency Peach Digital, the company that previously formed the online division of design agency Blue Peach. Peach Digital and Nation1 will now combine their expertise to offer clients a unique result driven service providing new media and integrated marketing solutions. Mike Rose, Director Peach Digital explained, “This move allows both companies to offer increased integration, creativity and overall service. Clients need an agency that understands both online/new media and advertising, what with the opportunities the Internet provides and the growth of interactive TV.” Nation1 and Peach Digital are now both located in newly refurbished offices at 144 West Regent Street, Glasgow.
Furthermore Nation1 are delighted to announce the appointment of three new team members, Peter Fischer Art Director, who joins the team from his role as Creative Director at a New York based design agency. Julie Parker who joins the company as Business Development and Communications Manager from a Glasgow based advertising agency and Lorna Mullen CA fills the newly created post of Finance Manager.
