Ancient Rome has left a lasting impact on the world. Although officially ending before the year 500, many aspects of Roman culture, society, government, religion, etc. have influenced the way we live today. This project will allow you to look more deeply at some aspect of ancient Rome that has left a legacy on our lives today.
Working in a group of no more than 3, you will choose one topic from ancient Rome to teach the class about and explain how it is still used today.
1st - Choose a topic:

2nd - Decide what format you will use for your project:

3rd - Begin researching information for your project:
The following information must be included in your final project:
1. Your topic and its importance to ancient Rome:
-Provide detailed information about this topic and its use/importance in
-Questions you should be answering in your project:
What is it?
How did it develop or who used it?
What was its purpose?
What does it say about ancient Rome?
How did it influence/effect ancient Roman society/culture/government/et?
-Include pictures, illustrations, or examples that show this topic in
use in ancient Rome.
-Try to connect this topic to important people or events that occurred in ancient
Rome. (Example - Roman entertainment at the Colosseum was often organized by
emperors so give us specific examples)
2. Your topic and its connection to the world today:
- Explain how this topic is part of a larger legacy or lasting
impact on people today.
- Questions you should be answering in your project:
How has this topic influenced the way people lived today?
In what ways has this topic evolved or changed from what it was in
-Give specific examples of this topic and its use or influence on today
(Example: foods we eat, governments in use, holidays with Roman ties, etc.)
4th - Put your final project together:
Now you must put your information together in project format. It is up to you how you do it. You will have an entire week so I expect excellence and effort. You must clearly demonstrate that you used class time wisely and worked to your full potential to do well.
This project will be presented to the class so you want to make sure your information is clear and easy to understand.

This project will be graded based on the following criteria:
1. Information given on the chosen topic and its importance and relevance in ancient Rome. 15 pts.
2. Information given on the connection between this topic and today's world. 15 pts.
3. Project is put together neatly and creatively with little to no spelling or grammatical errors. 10 pts.
4. Project is presented to the class in a 2-5 min presentation. Presenter/s are informative and clear. 5 pts.
