Just like in North America, Central America is considered a culture region because all the countries in this region share a similar history (colonization by European powers)

The spread of cultures from people such as the Spanish and French has caused language to change from the language of the native Central Americans (Mayan) to that of the colonizing groups (many European languages such as Spanish, French, and English).
