New York – Today, the Manhattan Borough President C. Virginia Fields’ 2nd Annual Constituent Services Information Fair was held in northern Manhattan at the Adam Clayton Powell, Jr. State Office Building.
Representative from several City, State and Federal agencies and organizations including the New York City Housing Authority, the Department for the Aging, the Harlem Veterans Center, the New York State Attorney General’s Office, the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office, the New York State Division of Human Rights, the Social Security Administration, Harlem Hospital Center and the New York City Police and Fire Departments were on hand to assist attendees with various questions. Additionally, several private companies and non-profit groups were on hand, most notably Con Edison, , Consumer Education Council, the Police Athletic League, Safe Horizons (Victims Services) and Center Care Health Benefits Plan.
“It’s essential that people have access to the information they need to resolve problems and have their questions answered,” said Fields. “That’s why I am pleased that so many agencies and organizations participated in this fair. I believe that they also realize the importance of helping people to learn about and understand about the programs that available to help them and their families.”
