The setting of the film is taking place around 1200 B.C. during the late Bronze Age. It took place in Ancient Greece Troy, also known as Troai, and Ancient Greece Sparta, desert like places in the film.
The Plot: Condense the main story line into 5-8 sentences
The main storyline of the film is when the Prince of Troy who is known as a Trojan has an affair with the Queen of Sparta, Helen, and convinces her to go back to Troy with him. This is kept as a secret until the queen’s husband, King Menelaus of Sparta, finds out that she is missing and realizes that the Trojans had taken her. Soon enough this rage between the Trojans and his missing wife results in a war between Troy and Sparta that is taken into effect when the King Menelaus of Sparta consults with King Agamemnon to get his wife back. King Agamemnon is the leader of the nation’s defense force so he sees this war as an advantage to obtain more power. War begins between the two nations.

When looking at the film and taking into consideration the fact that the movie was based on a book written by Homer called Iliad, there were indeed characters in the film that were based on the characters in Homer’s book.
