For a framed reinforced concrete building in Brazil, participated in a shallow foundation design using the American Concrete Institute (ACI) code. Calculated differential settlement after construction; determined size & reinforcement for columns, and amount of reinforcement required for shrinkage & temperature; designed steel reinforcement resisting bending, and column-footing joint for columns & footings; and drawn a scaled layout of footings showing reinforcement using AutoCAD 2000.
