Marilynne Robinson lives in Iowa City and teaches at the Iowa Writers Workship. She is the author of novels Lila, Home, Gilead, and Housekeeping, and four books of nonfiction. She is the winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Fiction (Gilead), National Book Critics Circle Award (Lila), National Book Critics Circle Award Prize (Home), and the recipient of a 2012 National Humanities Medal, awarded by President Barack Obama, for “her grace and intelligence in writing.”


All Iowa Reads is a program of the Iowa Center of the Book to foster a sense of unity through reading, encouraging Iowans to read and discuss a single book each year.
