VERSION 1.3 CHANGE LIST
Installation:
• Wrote new installation instructions for Version 1.3 (credit: Rob38)
New/Modified Art:
• Rohan Royal Guards now have a fire arrow tip object in their model (credit: Rob38)

• Aragorn now uses three different skins. For the campaign, his skin changes based on where the player is at in the campaign. For skirmish multiplayer, Aragorn starts off with his Fellowship outfit. At level 7, he changes into his Helm’s Deep outfit. On level 9, he changes into his black gate outfit (credit: EA and Rob38).

• Yeoman archers now have higher resolution textures (credit: EA and Rob38).

• Camera Button has custom images (credit: Rob38)


Computer AI: (Credit for AI work: Rob38)
• Significantly increased time it takes before hard AI will start purchasing unit upgrades.

• Revamped and enhanced AI’s structure building logic for increased difficulty. All difficulties (easy, medium, and hard) have been adjusted.

• Hard AI now only receives a 500 credit boost at the beginning (used to be 2000 or more).

• Hard AI’s money production buildings have been adjusted for better balance and fairness. While their money production capacity is enhanced, the enhancement has been reduced significantly.

• The AI now uses their hero’s experiencing boosting abilities.

• The Berserker should now be able to target a deployed mine.

• The Balrog does not remain idle as much anymore.
General Bugs and Fixes: (Credit for coding: Rob38)
• Elven Base Defense Flets can now shoot arrows over the Elven Walls.

• Hama now gains a +25% armor and +25% attack bonus when near Theoden (he never received the bonus before).

• Amroth's Knights had no crush weapon! As such, they did no damage when charging! They now do 40 damage.
Campaign Changes:
• On the living world map, Rohan Royal Guards and Eorlingas are now included in the player’s army numbers.

• The opposing forces in skirmish (non-story) maps have been adjusted to better counterattack the player’s army. This was achieved through a combination of increased forces and different assigned units.

• On the evil Isengard mission, 7 mirkwood scout hordes and 4 more ents have been added to the opposing forces.

• On the evil Fangorn mission, 4 more ents have been added around the ent moot. Also, 3 elven flets, 1 lookout tower, 1 elven hero statue, and 1 elven well have been added to the elven base. Finally, 11 mirkwood scout hordes, 3 elven spearmen hordes, and 6 Rivendell rider hordes have been added to the opposing forces.

• On the evil Amon Hen mission, 10 mirkwood scout hordes, 3 elven spearmen hordes, and 2 Amroth Knight hordes have been added to the opposing forces.

• On the evil Edoras mission, 2 rohirrim hordes, 2 rohirrim archer hordes,

• On the evil Helm’s Deep mission, a level 8 Haldir has been added to the map.

• On the hard difficulty of the evil Helm’s Deep mission, all starting units for Rohan (8 elven warrior hordes, 9 yeoman archer hordes, 3 peasant hordes, 3 rohirrim hordes) are now fully upgraded.

• On the evil Minas Tirith mission, the army of the dead has a spawn time of two minutes before fading out (used to be 25 seconds).

• On the good Fangorn mission, Ugluk starts the mission at level 5.

Reverted good Black Gate mission back to original TEA version as there were errors in the map in the TEA:CE version.
Incorrect Text Strings:
• Reworked entire text string document to remove duplicates and provide better detailed descriptions for the Elves.
Elven Faction Balance Changes:
• Elven Mist spellbook power now provides +50% armor, +50% damage, and +20% speed bonus to nearby infantry and cavalry.

• Glorfindel’s passive leadership now only provides a +15% armor boost (by mistake, it was +115%).

• Celeborn’s passive leadership now only provides a +50% heal rate to nearby heroes (used to be 150%).

• Haldir’s Elven Swordsmen ability now only provides a 50% armor boost (used to be 100%).

• Arwen Loudwater Fury attack damage has been adjusted to match Elrond’s Power of the Bruinen attack damage.
Other Faction Balance Changes:
• Balrog life timer has increased from 40 seconds to 50 seconds.

• Ugluk’s passive leadership now provides a 20% speed bonus to Uruk-hai (used to be 10%).

• Both of Merry’s and Pippin’s armor upgrades now provide a uniform 10% armor boost to all damage types.
Maps:
• All new maps added to mod can now be played in multiplayer (a file location error only allowed maps to be played in single player skirmish).

• All maps now have five different camera views (general, commander, unit, ground, and aerial).


Other Changes:
• Fixed error that caused the mod to not run in patch 1.06

VERSION 1.2 CHANGE LIST
Installation:
• “Installation and Debug Instructions” document stated that all three BfME patches needed to be installed in order. This is not true. Only patch 1.03 needs to be installed (credit: Jonasking).

• The mod has a new installer (credit: Nertea for the NSIS coding scripts)


New/Modified Art:
• The Gondor soldiers pushing the trebuchet now have higher resolution textures (credit: compiled by Yarrum).

• Gondor soldiers and archers now have higher resolution textures in their regular armor state (credit: compiled by Yarrum).

• The helmet and sword for the Rohan peasants now have higher resolution textures (credit: compiled by Yarrum).

• Glorfindel now has a new voice set (credit: _Haldir_ for the voice files; Rob38 for modification and coding them into the game).

• Celeglin now has a new voice set (credit: Valaquenta10 for the voice files; Rob38 for modification and coding them into the game).

• Sentinels from Woody End now have a new voice set (credit: {AE}Manveru for the voice files; Rob38 for modification and coding them into the game).

• Uruk Soldiers and crossbowmen have higher resolution textures in their regular armor state.

• Uruk Soldiers and crossbowmen have higher resolution textures in their upgraded armor state (credit: EA and Rob38).

• Gondor cavalry now have randomized horse textures (credit: Yarrum for code find).

• The shell map has an updated image for users with graphics set at Low or Very Low.

• The shell map has been modified to reduce lag (i.e., map size decreased) and to add several more visual elements (i.e., larger trees in background and Thranduil running by with Mirkwood Scouts) (credit: _Haldir_).


Computer AI: (Credit for AI work: Rob38)
• The Elven AI is now available and fully functioning in all difficulties.

• The hard difficulty is increasingly more difficult for all five factions.

• Computer AI now purchases unit upgrades (e.g., heavy armor, forged blades, fire arrows, and banner carriers) more frequently than before.

• Rohan’s, Gondor’s, Isengard’s, and Mordor’s AI have been modified for improvement and to incorporate all the changes in the mod.

• Singleplayer (campaign) AI has been updated for increased difficulty and to incorporate all the changes in the mod.
General Bugs and Fixes: (Credit for coding: Rob38)
• Tribute to the Valar Statue now uses the “v” shortcut key. It used to be “s” but this conflicted with the Elven Stables.

• The Elves hero order is now set from highest cost to lowest cost.

• Cirdan’s level is back to one instead of five (error in coding).

• Rohan Eorlingas and Rohan Royal Guards combo horde now uses the proper ranged weaponset (archers shoot and soldiers defend)

• Sam’s frying pan ability can now be set to autocast.

• When unpacking the Elven Outpost, you no longer see the Gondor keep model briefly.

• Rohan Camp and Outpost Keeps now display all eight Rohan heroes.

• The glowing orbs and ambient sounds in the Elven castle, camp, and outpost no longer are heard or appear when shrouded in fog in war.

• The Elven statue props in the camp now fade away when the camp is destroyed.

• The guard radius for spearmen of the havens is the correct size now (same as the Gondor tower shield guards).

• Merry’s and Pippin’s armor upgrade buttons no longer grey out after reaching the correct level.
Campaign Changes:
• Hama and Gamling have been added to the evil Helm’s Deep campaign mission.
Incorrect Text Strings:
• Elven Horse Shields now have the proper armor boost number displayed in the text
Elven Faction Balance Changes:
• Sentinels from Woody End now have the Elven Cloak ability (same ability as the hobbits).

• Arwen’s Noro Lim ability time has been reduced from 45 seconds to 30 seconds.


Other Faction Balance Changes:
• Mordor Orc Warrior Horde build time decreased from 30 to 23.

• Balrog life timer has increased from 35 seconds to 40 seconds.

• Eowyn can now mount at level 1.

• Ents, ballistas, trebuchets, and catapults now have less accurate ranged projectile attacks (i.e., projectiles have a random scatter radius).


Maps:
• All skirmish maps can now utilize the Elven AI (credit: _Haldir_)

• The followings maps in the mod have been created by _Haldir_:

VERSION 1.1 CHANGE LIST
New/Modified Art:
• Shell Map object count reduced from 695 to 500 (will help reduce lag).

• Arwen now has moving animations in the shell map.

• The music piece "Imladris Unleashed" has been added to the shell map.

• Added “Community Edition” to the shell map logo text (credit: Rob38).

• The shell map now has a new image for users with graphics set at Low or Very Low.

• The loading images before the shell map appearance now has a new image (credit: _Haldir_).

• Arwen’s audio files have all been amplified so that you can hear them in-game (credit: Rob38).

• Glorfindel (who had no voices) now uses Cirdan’s voices (Cirdan’s voice was never used).

General Bugs and Fixes:
• Shortcut keys have been added to all the Elven buildings.

• The Elven Outpost is now properly centered and the build plots evenly spaced.

• Glorfindel’s starting level is now set back to five (a coding error on my part made it six).

• Elrond’s Vilya power can now be used as an auto-ability.

• Elrond’s commandset order has been fixed so that Vilya comes after Wisdom.

• Galadriel’s regular attack range has been adjusted so that she will always do damage when attacking a castle gate.

• Galadriel’s “Visions” ability now just requires one left-click to activate (radius cursor has been removed)

• Galadriel’s "Nenya", "Light of the Valar", and "Power of the Lady" abilities can now be set to auto.

• Thranduil’s "Greenwood" ability now gives experience to Thranduil for units that are killed.

• Thranduil’s "Strength of Oropher" and "Wounding Strike" abilities can now be set to auto.

• Haldir’s “Wounding Arrow” and "Elven Swordsman" abilities can now be set to auto.

• Glorfindel’s "Revealed in Wrath" ability can now be set to auto.

• Celeborn’s "Guardian of the Woods" ability can now be set to auto.

• Celeglin’s "Double Shot" ability can now be set to auto.

• Cirdan can now be repurchased at the same fortress when he dies.

• Amroth’s Knights upgrades appear properly now. Before, whenever a unit was killed in a battalion and then revived, their upgrades appeared even when they had not been purchased yet. This has been fixed.

• Spearmen of the Havens’ shield wall formation should now prevent trampling (*UNTESTED*).

• Spearmen of the Havens now have their proper button image when garrisoned.

• Rohan Royal Guard Infantry Battalions now receive the infantry cost discount from the well.

• Rohan Eorlingas Battalions should now be able to combine with Rohan Royal Guard Battalions.

• Hama’s and Theoden’s summoned Rohan Royal Guards now grant experience when killed.

• Merry and Pippin’s armor upgrade buttons will still appear even when they reached the proper level.

• Gothmog’s Summoned Morgul Orcs now grant experience when killed.

Incorrect Text Strings
• Elrond’s Vilya power description text is more specific (Heroes can be knocked back but not stunned).

• Cirdan’s description text has been modified to clarify that he is not a selectable hero. Leadership abilities are also displayed.

• Gimli’s Slayer ability now displays the proper required level (seven).

• Theoden now displays the proper leadership numbers (+50% armor, +50% damage).



Campaign Changes:
• The good Black Gate mission has been made harder. Attack waves now take one less minute to appear. Attack waves also have gotten much larger (roughly 25% to 50% bigger armies). Mission has not been tested so do not know how much more difficult or beatable it is.

• The good Minas Tirith mission has more siege towers attacking at the beginning of the invasion.

• In the Mirkwood mission, Celeborn is now unable to use his “Summon Elven Allies” ability to prevent two Celeglin being on the map at the same time.

Elven Faction Balance Changes:
• Galadriel’s locomotor speed has increased from 31 to 35.

• Elrond’s experience modifier for his leadership ability has been reduced to 200% (used to be 300%).

• Cirdan now grants a 50% armor boost to all nearby units and a 30% speed bonus to Spearmen of the Havens.

• Cirdan’s build cost has been reduced from 2000 to 1500.

• Galadriel’s “Throw Down Its Walls” ability has been completely revamped. It is now a radius cursor weapon that causes severe damage to any enemy structure, wall, or gate. It does no damage to units or heroes but does have a knockback effect.

• Galadriel’s regular attack should now damage wall upgrades for Rohan and Gondor (*UNTESTED*).

• Thranduil’s "Woodland Magic" (teleport) ability recharge time has been reduced from 70 seconds to 50 seconds.

• Celeborn now has a new ability called “Celeborn’s Wisdom” that is granted at level six. It provides a small amount of experience to heroes in a small radius. The recharge time for the ability is five minutes.

• The Elves "Blessings of the Golden Wood" spellbook ability (aka Elven Mist) has been revamped. It now does not continue to do damage to units who retreat from the mist. Instead, it attacks in 15 separate bursts (2 seconds between each burst) and does damage to any enemy inside the radius. It now also does moderate damage to enemy structures (excluding walls).

• Increased build time for Elven defense Flets from 15 seconds to 20 seconds.

• Reduced build cost for Elven defense Flets from 350 to 300.

• Elven defense flets can no longer be garrisoned.

• Reduced build cost for Elven base structure Flets from 750 to 700.

• Elven base structures flets can garrison one horde for extra firepower.

• Arwen’s build cost has been reduced from 2000 to 1500.

• Elven banner unit build time has been reduced from 20 seconds to 15 seconds.



Other Faction Balance Changes:
• Theoden’s Glorious charge ability now gives cavalry +75% armor, +30% attack, and no crush deceleration (used to be +99% armor. +30% attack, and no crush deceleration).

• Mumakil now needs 1000 FLAME damage to go on death rampage (used to be 3250 Flame damage).

• Army of the Dead speed further reduced from 50 to 40.

• Balrog life timer has increased from 30 seconds to 35 seconds.

• The Gondor and Isengard Battle Towers can now be garrisoned with one horde for extra firepower.

Elven Faction Balance Changes:
• Elven Flet build cost reduced from 450 to 350

• Mirkwood Scouts attack power against Uruk fighters has increased 50%

• The Avari fighters summon duration is reduced from 2 minutes to 90 seconds

• Experience is now gained for defeating Avari Warriors (*UNTESTED*)

• Avari health reduced from 160 to 120

• Riders of Rivendell build cost increased from 800 to 950

• Amroth's Knights build cost increased from 800 to 950

• Elven Spearmen shield wall formation now prevents trampling (*UNTESTED*)

• Haldir's build cost has been reduced from 1600 to 1300

• Elrond's Elf Lord power is now received at level 6 instead of 8

• Elrond's Power of the Bruinen attack power has been modified. Damage against heroes has been reduced from 900 to 500 (MAGIC damage). For flying units, damage has been reduced from 1500 to 600 (MAGIC damage). For regular units damage has been reduced from 700 to 200. Structure damage remains the same as before.

Other Faction Balance Changes:
• Army of the Dead recharge time has increased from 6 to 9 minutes

• Army of the Dead speed reduced from 65 to 50

• Elven Mist recharge time has increased from 6 to 9 minutes

• Elven Mist attack duration has been reduced from 30 seconds to 20 seconds

• The Balrog summon recharge time has increased from 6 to 9 minutes

• Balrog's regular attack against buildings has been reduced from 1600 (1000 from FLAME and 600 from STRUCTURAL) to 1200 (600 from FLAME and 600 from STRUCTURAL)



• Balrog's attack against normal units has been reduced from 1800 (1000 from NORMAL and 800 from FLAME) to 1200 (600 from NORMAL and 600 from FLAME)
