|HFA 4M: Food: A Global Perspective
To research the foods of one country in the world and present the information in the form of a written report in essay style. You will need to become familiar with the following areas of your country:
The official name of the country
Population and demographics
Other geographical information that affects food supply or preferences like mountains, deserts or rivers
Bordering countries and their influences on your country
Religion and its influence on the foods of your country
The type of economy in the country; its currency and vale in relation to the Canadian dollar as well as the major sources of revenue for the country
Average family size and income
Other health status and the existence of poverty, hunger or malnutrition
National and international policies that are in place to reduce hunger/malnutrition
Typical eating patterns of a citizen (a typical day’s menu)
What is the staple food and why?
One tradition or celebration of this country which includes food.
Select 2 traditional recipes; one which is served during the celebration of choice and one using a staple food. Include an explanation of why you chose the two recipes you did.
A map of the country (maybe some pictures of famous sites)
