Integrated Secure Protection for Electronic Equipment
This specification defines the mechanical characteristics and requirements for the DCF optimized rack system from Emerson Network Power, a series of adaptive and scalable electronic equipment support cabinets. The DCF optimized rack system shall be configurable as a cabling and distribution enclosure or as a complete server enclosure. The DCF enclosures shall include EIA-310E standard rack-mount rails. The core systems shall be factory-assembled, ready for the installation of customer-supplied electronic equipment. All DCF, distribution and server enclosures shall be flexible and field-upgradeable with UPS, power distribution and fan option.
1.2 Design Requirements
The product shall be designed in accordance with the following agency standards or certifications. Where a conflict arises between these documents and statements made herein, the statements in this specification shall govern.
EIA-310E standard for IT rail hole spacing
NEMA Type 1 / IEC IP10 (non-sealed) enclosure
The DCF optimized rack systems shall be available as standard floor-standing units. The DCF frame shall be constructed of heavy duty steel frame and shall have adjustable EIA rail positioning. The frame shall support up to 3000 lb (1363kg) static weight and shall have casters and leveling feet installed. Standard top covers shall be removable in the field, include provisions for front and rear cable entrance with factory-supplied grommets and be made of vented sheet metal which is compatible with Liebert® XDV™, Liebert MB™ (Modular Busway) as well as a top cover mounted horizontal cable management system.
19" RACK MOUNTING RAILS - STANDARD FRAMES
All mounting rails shall be constructed of 14-gauge sheet steel, powder-coat black grey (RAL 7021), with color-contrasting RU position labels. The mounting rails shall support the EIA-310E standard hole mounting pattern, be factory-installed in the DCF frame and be individually field-adjustable to allow for flexibility of mounting depth.
STANDARD FRAME / ENCLOSURE OPTIONS
The DCF frame is factory-configured with split side panels, (1) perforated, curved front door and perforated split rear doors, locks, (2) sets of EIA rails front and rear, top cover, casters, leveling feet, (2) full height PDU/cable management mounting brackets, (1) cluster kit, as a NEMA 1 / IP10 (non-sealed) enclosure. Doors and side panels shall be finished in powder-coat black grey (RAL 7021). Overall dimensions of the DCF optimized rack system enclosure with all doors, panels, and casters shall be:
Height: 42U, 78.1" (1985mm); or 48U, 88.6” (2251mm)
Width: 23.6" (600mm) 19" EIA rack-mount, or 31.5" (800mm) 19" EIA rack-mount.
Node Brackets to provide 19" mounting in 800mm racks shall be standard.
Frame Depth: 44" (1100mm) or 48" (1200mm)
Overall Depth: 45.9" (1166mm) or 49.8" (1266mm)
DCF optimized rack system doors shall be:
Front Single door, 75 percent perforated area, 20 gauge (0.90mm) steel finished in powder-coat black grey (RAL 7021).
Rear Split door, 75 percent perforated area, 20 gauge (0.90mm) steel finished in powder-coat black grey (RAL 7021).
The DCF split side panels shall be of 25 gauge (.50mm) sheet metal construction and of solid construction. Panels shall be externally removable and come standard with locks.
The non-locking swivel Casters shall be rated to support up to 3000lb. (1,363kg) static total weight (DCF enclosure plus user equipment). Casters shall add 1.9" (48mm) to overall frame height. Casters and Leveling Feet are included with every rack.
The cluster kit shall supply the hardware necessary to cluster DCF enclosure systems of the same height and depth cabinet. Clustered systems shall be interconnected in the field. There is also an optional gasket that will fill the gap between cabinets when cabinets are clustered.
The Emerson rack PDU options shall be installed on full-height PDU/cable management mounting brackets. Power strip options shall be:
The Knurr DI-STRIP®
The Liebert MPH™, a Managed Rack PDU, shall deliver fixed power input/output with remote management support.
The Liebert MPX™, an Adaptive Rack PDU, shall provide scalable and modular power and remote management support.
Internal Cable Management
Cable management options shall provide a means of internal cable routing and management. Each option shall be field-installed, either on the rack mounting rails or on the frame of the cabinet.
TOP COVER FAN COOLING
Each DCF enclosure shall be available with an optional fan module to provide top air evacuation for enclosure systems. This fan module provides one axial fan intended for mounting to the rear portion of the top cover. FAN1000™ shall provide a fan rated for 114CFM (60Hz) for “low noise” option and 235CFM (60Hz) for “high ambient” option and be 120-1ph-60Hz.
Mounting options shall be field-installed and include all necessary installation instructions. All mounting options shall be for application with the front and rear internal mounting EIA rails unless noted otherwise.
The pullout shelf shall be a solid shelf that mounts to standard DCF internal EIA rails. The shelf shall be 20 gauge (.90mm) sheet steel construction, finished in powder-coat black grey (RAL 7021) and support 110 lb. (50kg) evenly distributed.
FIXED TOOL-LESS SHELF
The tool-less shelf shall be a vented shelf that mounts on standard DCF internal EIA rails. The shelf shall be 20 gauge (.90 mm) sheet steel construction, finished in powder-coat black grey (RAL 7021) and support 275 lb. (124kg) evenly distributed
L-SHAPED DEPTH ADJUSTABLE SUPPORT RAILS
The L-Shaped Depth Adjustable Support Rail shall include two horizontally positioned 90° “L” rails that extend between the front and rear 19" EIA rails. The rails shall be 0.08" (2mm) galvanized sheet steel and support up to 110 lb. (50kg) evenly distributed. The finish shall be polished but unpainted.
19" RACKMOUNT 2U LOCKABLE DRAWER
The front drawer shall be a 2U lockable enclosure built of 20 gauge (.90 mm) sheet steel with internal pull-out rails, finished in powder-coat black grey (RAL 7021).
Air Diverters shall be used to allow side flow switches to have proper air flow. They come in 4U, 12U, 15U and 21U heights. Air Diverters shall be used only on 800mm cabinets and shall be adjustable in depth from 8.31”min to 12.83" maximum.
Tool-less blanking panels shall be snapped onto the DCF 19" EIA rails to block unused portions of the rack, blocking the open areas enhances airflow through the rack equipment. The blanking panels shall be available in 1U and 2U. There is also a 1U metal variation with brush strips that can mount horizontally between the EIA rails.
VERTICAL FILLER PANELS
Vertical Filler Panels shall be used to block air flow in the vertical space between the EIA rails and side panels. These full-height panels shall be available only on 800mm cabinets. There shall be 1U cutouts with brush strips installed for cable management.
The Liebert XDV Mounting Bracket shall allow mounting a Liebert XDV module on the top of a DCF.
LIEBERT MB MOUNTING BRACKET
The Liebert MB Mounting Bracket shall be used for installing a Liebert MB on a DCF. Available to mount a single or A & B bus on top of a cabinet. One (1) shall be used, at a minimum, for every five-foot (5') section of Liebert MB run.
The RPC BDM bracket shall allow the RPCBDM to mount directly on the front or rear perforated door.
Optional combination locks shall be available for the front and rear DCF doors to enhance security.
Bolt-Down Brackets shall come with every cabinet. Bolt-Down Brackets shall be used to secure the cabinet to the pallet in transit and to the floor after installation. This bracket shall not hold any seismic rating (any seismic rating must be obtained on-site, after the DCF's installation, from a Seismic Engineer).
The mounting cage nuts package for rack mounting shall include spring-mounted caged nuts to fit in vertical square rail holes. Each package shall include 50 cage nuts (M6 threaded) and 50 matched screws.
All DCF cable management options shall be field-installed.
19" CABLE ROUTING PANEL WITH D-RINGS
Cable Routing Panels with D-Rings shall be used orderly management of fiber and copper cable through patch panels. These routing panels shall be constructed of 17 gauge (1.5mm) steel, finished in black grey (RAL 7021).
19" CABLE TROUGH
Cable troughs shall be used for securing cables in place in zero-U space or across the rack face in conjunction with Velcro™ straps. These troughs shall be constructed of 17 gauge (1.5mm) steel finished in black grey (RAL 7021).
Lobster Claw cable management shall be heavy duty plastic rings, black, field-attached to the PDU Bracket/EIA rail and shall support approximately 2" (50.8mm) diameter cable bundle. Lobster Claws shall be available in packs of 10 and 100. These shall be mounted by inserting them into rectangular cutouts in the PDU Bracket/EIA rail dimension and turning them clockwise 1/4 turn.
Velcro Strips and heavy duty plastic attachment points shall be available in packs of 10 and 100. The attachment points shall be mounted by inserting them into the PDU Bracket/EIA rail dimension and turning clockwise 1/4 turn. The Velcro Strips shall fit through slots in the attachment points. Each Velcro Strip shall support a cable bundle approximately 5" (130mm) diameter.
TOP COVER BASED CABLE ROUTING KIT
Top Cover Cable Management kits shall be available to assist in organizing cables routed across the top of one or more DCF racks.
CABINET TRIM KIT
This optional kit shall be available for use with the top cover based cable routing kit to provide cover to the center cable trough.
18U VERTICAL CABLE FINGERS
The Cable Fingers option shall permit routing cables in the void between DCF racks in a cluster configuration. The cables can be strung through the fingers of the Cable Fingers and into an adjacent rack (with side panels removed). A DCF shall accommodate two sets of the Cable Fingers installed one above the other in a 42U or 48U cabinet. 18U Vertical Cable Fingers shall be deployable in the front, rear or both. Optional back planes and covers shall be available.
Flat Part options shall correspond to standard price book options. All options shall include installation instructions and/or drawings and sketches as required. Contact Solutions Applications Engineering for details regarding the existing configuration and the necessary requirements to upgrade.
WARRANTY (U.S. SALES ONLY)
