ELEMENTAL RESISTANCE/WEAKNESS PROPERTIES

There are 6 effective values for element status. <0, 0, 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%. All elemental protections work in increments of 25%.

Anytime a value is below zero (neutral), you are considered weak against the element, with the bar all the way to the left (making it seem like 100%). This is regardless of whether you are "1%" or "200%" weak to the element. The game likely only works in an on/off weakness fashion: either you are or you aren't.

Any resistance 100% or above is considered "invalid" and any attack of that element will either do 0 or 1 damage. Once 100% and "invalid" status is reached, any more resistance in that element is not considered (except in calculating the final element status). 100% and 300% resist are the same.

When deciding final elemental status, the sum of all armor is used. If you have a Aureola Amulet (50% to all), and a Goddess Hi-Heels (50% to all), you have 100% to all (invalid). If you then equipped a Bronze Armor (-25% to Fire), you would have 100% on all, and 75% on Fire.

The vast majority of items with weakness are 25%, so almost any resistance item will raise it to 25% resistance (since most are 50%).

If you have 50% weakness and 50% resist to one element, it will result in neutral status (normal damage).

Items like Plague Armor and Sol's Helm seem to have "infinite" resistance to Bomb and Fire respectively, but it is really just 200%. With Sol's Helm, equip a Dark Robe (-100% to all elements), and Bronze Shield (-25% to Fire), and Fire resistance will be at 75%.

Plague Armor and Black Angel Robe are interesting cases, however, as I don't think it is possible to have more than a 75% weakness without using the armor slot, therefore Plague Armor is essentially absolute Bomb immunity, as is Black Angel Robe and fire.
