Joseph Cinque led the mutiny with 53 other captured Africans but only 35 survived to tried
The navigator was spared and ordered to take the ship back to Africa.
The navigator directed the ship northward toward America without the slaves knowing
The ship was found off the coast of New York and brought in by the us navy
The case was then tried by the us supreme court
